Personal Background – Marianne Camerer, Ph.D.
With over 15 years experience working in public interest organizations, Marianne is committed to developing high performance leaders who achieve their full potential and make a real difference within their sphere of influence.
Marianne is a Yale World Fellow (2005), a practitioner member of COMENSA and has a Ph.D. in Political Studies from the University of Witwatersand, an M.Phil. in Comparative Social Research from Oxford University, and a MA in Political Philosophy from the University of Stellenbosch.
She has completed the Foundation in Integral Coaching through The Coaching Center and since March 2010 has worked as a leadership development specialist with Leadership Solutions (www.leadershipsolutions.co.za)
She is a widely published author and international speaker on anti-corruption and public integrity issues and has consulted for a number of international organizations, including the World Bank and United Nations.
From 2005 – 2008 Marianne was a visiting senior lecturer at the University of Stellenbosch, developing and teaching a Masters course in Applied Ethics.
From 2003 – 2007 Marianne was based in Washington DC, where she co-founded the award-winning international NGO, Global Integrity www.globalintegrity.org, leading the team that developed the Global Integrity Index.
From September 1995 to February 2002 Marianne conducted applied policy research on victim and crime related issues at the Institute for Security Studies, heading the Corruption and Governance Programme.
In 2000 she was a founding director of the Open Democracy Advice Centre, a Cape Town based NGO specializing in access to information and whistleblower protection issues. She currently chairs the ODAC board.
