Ethical Leadership
A combination of corporate scandals in the last decade and a growing awareness of the impact of business on individuals, the community and the environment have placed ethics and values squarely at the forefront of leadership concerns.
Ethical leadership is based on knowledge and understanding of one’s core values and on the courage to live those values in all aspects of life in service of the common good.
Ethical, values based leadership moves from the inside outwards. The outward actions, decisions and behaviours are not arbitrary but are based on the inner values which the leader holds.
This inner integrity leads to a commitment to working for the common good. Therefore a leader needs to be as attentive to their inner journey as to their outward behaviour.
This inner journey and its outward manifestation can be described in terms of the four V’s:

Leadership Solutions works with leaders and teams to help them discover their core values which determine the choices they make. Arising from those values comes the vision of what could be. Leaders then find their voice, the means and ability to express that vision, and finally they are challenged by virtue in striving to do what it right.
Ethical leadership can be applied to individual leaders or to teams. We understand that teams have a collective persona, and that persona has values from which arises vision. The collective team persona also needs to voice that vision to the world if it is to be effective, and it needs to act virtuously in the cause of the common good.
Through a combination of facilitated learning sessions and personal coaching, Leadership Solutions supports the development of an ethical culture in organizations by enabling leaders and teams to articulate their values and to find practical ways to express, nurture and maintain them in the daily work environment.
