Executive Coaching

Executive Coaching

  • A fully customised and personalised service, tailored to the needs of the client, with the specific objectives of maximising their performance and achieving self-coaching.
  • Typically, for six months to a year, with a review after three months.
  • The process begins with a one to two-hour meeting to strategically plan the coaching intervention, agree on your desired outcomes and the coaching path.
  • Usually, each month will consist of one or two one-hour face-to-face meetings, depending on the availability and needs of the client.
  • Progress is measured.
  • In addition, a retainer can be arranged of a stipulated number of hours per month where the coach will be available at reasonably short notice for face-to-face or telephonic coaching.

What is a Coach?

  • A Coach is a catalyst with the skills required to unlock a person or team’s potential and enable them to achieve breakthrough and deeply satisfying results.
  • A Coach gets you from where you are now to where you want to be, enabling you to convert what you know into spectacular results.
  • A Coach works with you over a period of time in order to enable you to achieve challenging objectives that really stretch you.
  • A Coach is concerned with raising the quality of your thinking – it is quality thinking that results in quality actions.

What coaching is not?

  • It is not advice, therapy, training, tips, fixing, motivation or consulting.

Who needs a coach?

  • Everyone could do with a coach. It is the single most valuable personal investment that anyone can make. What would Tiger Woods, Jack Welsh, Bill Gates, Cyril Ramaphosa or Oprah Winfrey have achieved without the ongoing support of a coach?
  • Our focus in this area is at the following levels:
    • Executive and Senior Management
    • Directors, especially newly-appointed directors
    • Leaders

A professional coach will:

  • Enable you to achieve your personal best.
  • Help you to navigate a path filled with obstacles and surprises and achieve outstanding results.
  • Enable you to think more clearly and more creatively.
  • Help you to overcome self-sabotaging and self-limiting beliefs.
  • Help you to find and maintain a work – life balance
  • Get the best out of people who are passionate, creative and committed to themselves, others and life.
  • Coach individuals and teams.
  • Enable top achievers to outdo themselves.
  • Help you to achieve breakthrough results and to maintain this long after the coaching has ended.

How does it work?

  • You will determine what you want to achieve over the process. Your Coach will coach you from that starting place and always have that as the foundation and focus for interaction.
  • You and your coach will co-create and identify such things as your values, your vision, your purpose, your mission, the goals you want to achieve out of coaching and put structures in place for achieving the goals.
  • Your coach will work with you from a base of intuition, past experience and expertise, and ask you the questions that will unlock the door of creativity and enable you to produce the results and solutions.
  • You will commit to actions and deadlines.
  • Your coach will support you in the process, passionately, single-mindedly and with the highest level of service.

Coaching Clinics

What are the objectives of a coaching clinic?

Coaching clinics are designed to:

  • Assist in the ongoing development of managers and leaders within your organisation;
  • Maximise the performance of managers and leaders in the organisation;
  • Enhance the performance of the individual team members reporting to the managers and leaders who attend the clinics as well as of the overall performance of their teams;
  • Add further value to existing learning initiatives within your organisation;
  • Clarify and optimise the thinking and decision-making processes of your managers and leaders;
  • Assist in clearing internal obstacles and interference in their thinking.

What areas might a coaching session cover?

  • Leadership skills
  • Professional development
  • Strategic thinking, planning and execution
  • Creative thinking and brainstorming
  • Improvement of client relations
  • Conflict resoluion
  • Emotional intelligence
  • Communication skills
  • Team development

Who in particular would benefit?
This process is aimed at all managers and leaders at whatever level as well as those identified by the organisation as future managers and leaders either in the normal course of events or those being fast-tracked.

How often would this coaching take place?
We would ideally attend on your organisation for an agreed number of pre-scheduled consecutive full days per month. It would be your organisation’s role to fill the days. Unused time cannot be carried forward. Each day would consist of 5 one-hour sessions with a half hour in between in order to prepare our internal session reports.

Would the coaching be in groups or one-to-one?
Both – people with similar needs and available time could pre-schedule a coaching module on that topic, or an individual can pre-book a slot on any one day to continue the process begun through the assessments or address a specific need. We would also encourage a manager to arrange two or three team or management meetings during the process at the scheduled time to allow us the opportunity to observe their effectiveness in those meetings and then to provide them with shadow coaching thereafter – for this purpose we would suggest that two consecutive coaching sessions be booked.
